You’re carrying a lot. Let’s make the load a little lighter.

ABOUT WORKINGMUMOPEDIA

It’s the morning school runs and the afternoon strategy meetings. It’s navigating traditional family expectations while chasing modern career ambitions. As a Millennial African working mother, you are constantly balancing two worlds—often facing the silent pressure to work as if you don't have children, and raise children as if you don't work.

Unfiltered Stories, Zero Fluff

what we offer

WorkingMumoPedia isn't a traditional blog. It is an aggregated collection of real, story-driven interviews from African mothers who are figuring it out right alongside you.

The Origin of WorkingMumoPedia

from the founder

Deborah Olubayo

Founder & Editor in Chief

For two years, this site was a testing ground for different ideas, and frankly, I lost sight of the original vision…

But the more I experimented, the more I realized what the space was actually missing. There are thousands of resources on productivity hacks, corporate templates for mums, but what’s often missed are the unfiltered realities of working mothers.

So I tore it down and started over. Today, WorkingMumoPedia is exactly what it was always meant to be. Think of an encyclopaedia of resources that cater for Working mums.

The turning point didn’t come from a business plan or a carefully thought-out strategy. It came at 11 PM on a Tuesday.

I was trying to meet a work deadline while my toddler refused to leave my side. Eventually, I gave up trying to do both separately. I placed her on my chest, balanced my laptop on my lap, and kept working.

Somewhere between answering emails and soothing a clingy toddler, I found myself desperately searching the internet for one thing:

Another woman living this exact reality.

Another working mum trying to balance ambition, deadlines, motherhood, and the guilt that often comes with all of it.

I wanted proof that I wasn’t the only one figuring it out as I went.

I realized the internet didn’t need another generic resource site. It needed a mirror.

WorkingMumoPedia is that mirror. A collection of unfiltered knowledge, experiences, and stories from working mums.

Through personal stories and shared experiences, my hope is that every woman who visits this platform finds something valuable. We’re building this together!

Thank you for being here.

I hope the stories you find here remind you that your journey matters too.
